Hermitlogue 2003

Since returning back to North America Adhi has attended several temple events in Oregon and California.  In August he had the opportunity to travel to Mexico to officiate at a wedding ceremony near Puerto Vallarta and then traveled south to Acapulco handing out booklets and Buddha Powers patches along the way.  Adhi hopes to go back again with a more formulated mission and to work with Buddhist groups (http://www.cmbt.org) and monks like U Nandisena (my ordination instructor.) There is still a small hermitage to maintain which constantly requires work though the $25K mortgage has been thankfully been paid off.  Expenses are kept low ($10 power, $20 phone, $27 water & sewer/month, $180 tax and $200 insurance/year) in order to dedicate more resources towards ongoing and upcoming projects aimed at helping an extended and needy world community.  Food continues as an ongoing expense since few people in this area donate food.  The annual budget including health and auto expenses does not exceed $4000. Locally Adhi wants to arrange meditation instruction and book distribution as interest increases.  He continues to write (perhaps with the intention of future publishing) and develop outreach and children’s programs like “The Path” board game.  Working with few supporters makes for slower progress so if you would like to volunteer your effort please let Adhi know.
